History

I don't have much time to write, as always, but I wanted to note this past week's events in the history books. On November 4th the USA elected an African American president, Barack Obama! I think this truly speaks for the character of Americans. I do feel that Americans have always been a little arrogant, (I know it's a bit of an understatement), but I"ve also met alot of nice Americans...so. But really, when I look back at the pointless, mean spirited campaign that the Canadian leaders fueled in the autumn, and what it led to, I'm embarassed of Canadian politics. Now, don't get me wrong. I think if Jack Layton had the money and the people behind him he could run a campaign like Barack's and win. I think he is charasmatic enough, likeable, and to be honest, has a lot of the same ideas that Barack does. Isn't it funny that even though most Canadians would have voted for Barack Obama, a slim majority voted for the Conservatives?

Watch out America. Socialism is coming. And honestly, is it such a bad thing to get a little bit of help every now and again.

God Bless America. (OMG, did I really say that?)
